The Sandwich Early Learning Center is proud to partner with families through The BASICS, a research-based framework that supports early brain development and school readiness.
The BASICS are five simple, powerful principles that families can use every day:
- Maximize Love, Manage Stress
- Talk, Sing, and Point
- Count, Group, and Compare
- Explore Through Movement and Play
- Read and Discuss Stories
These strategies help build strong language, thinking, and social-emotional skills from birth through age five. The BASICS are easy to incorporate into daily routines like mealtime, bath time, and playtime.
