Principal’s Message

Dear Students, Parents, Staff, and Community Members, 

As I near 20 years in education, I feel incredibly grateful for the path that has led me here. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of serving as a classroom teacher, reading specialist, dean of students, assistant principal, and now as principal here at Haskin, where I am in my fourth year. I hold Master’s Degrees in Reading Instruction and Educational Leadership, and every experience along the way has strengthened my belief in the power of relationships, connection, and community.

I have a deep love for learning and growth—you’ll often find me taking another class, attending a seminar, or diving into a new book. I believe the best educators never stop learning, and that curiosity is contagious for both students and staff.

What makes Haskin truly special is its strong sense of community and the way our school serves as the foundation for learning in Sandwich. Haskin proudly houses our Preschool Program, providing our youngest learners with a joyful and supportive start. We also offer many opportunities for students and families to connect with Sandwich High School, the Indian Valley Vocational Center (IVVC), and other community-based programs. We are building bridges that help our children see what’s possible at every stage of their educational journey.

This school feels like a home away from home—a place where students are known, valued, and encouraged to become their best selves. It’s a joy to see our Heart of Haskin Core Values—kindness, respect, responsibility, and perseverance—come to life in every classroom and hallway.

As both an educator and a parent with a child attending Haskin, I see firsthand the heart of this school every single day. The warmth, dedication, and collaboration that define our #TeamHaskin community make me proud to lead and to learn alongside all of you.
